This rainbow was shining over greensboro when i was driving home last night.  Amazingly, the song “Never Let Go” by David Crowder Band was playing on the radio at the same time.  When a great promise and reminder at the most perfect time.

morg and I went to South Carolina to see our grandfather before he passes away.  I took as pics as i could of his house – it hasn’t changed a bit since I was little.  my favorite part is the building in the back yard that houses the pool table.  we spent most of our time out there playing pool when we were little.  and this weekend, we shot a few games while breaking out the records and turn-table (Peter, Paul, and Mary).

been doing a lot of that lately.  my grandfather has cancer and they’ve given him about 2 weeks left.  so, i’ve been thinking about how we don’t get that time back with someone – to let them know that we care or to mend relationships.

but we do get chances to try again – just as people leave this earth, there are new people coming along. my brother sent me this pic (that i edited a bit) of my nephews.  this pic reminded me that while we lose people along the way – you never know who will come along in the future.  i never imagined that i could love 2 boys as much as i love these guys.

we spent part of the weekend watching old home movies and reminiscing.  it was so funny to see watch myself as a child and hear my voice back then – sooooo southern.  here’s a pic of my brother playing the trombone while I accompany him with my favorite percussion instrument – the pot and spoon.

and me with my first piano!

My parents’ house was built in 1920 by Dr. W. W. Matthews.  This is a picture of Dr. Matthews and his family on the steps of the house.  The maid is standing in front of the house with the baby carriage.  Also, notice the Ford Model T in the carriage port on the left.

And here are my parents, Morgan and Eric on the steps of the house today.  Lots more landscaping and some changes to the house.

yum!  i love food – especially when it’s pretty.

lee & jen: i can’t wait to shoot their wedding in september!  they are such a cute couple.

wyatt rode his first pony saturday morning.  these are my fav pics from the shoot.

I’m the artist of the month at Eden City Hall.  My photos are on display in Eden – so if you’re in the area, go check out my exhibit!  There’s also an article about me in this month’s Eden’s Own Journal.
